If you frequent the 7D2D official forums, there's a mod there that claims to have been party to discussions on this matter, as well as why the change was reverted after two days. Apparently there's a master plan to nerf the looting and trader in terms of getting T6 items. This effectively would make them 'Legendary' items without calling them as much. So, as much as I dislike that answer, I dislike it less than feeling the current version is the final one with regards to crafting vs. Unless the final version on this is universally hated then it will probably be that way for A18 stable.Personally I think they should just enable T6 crafting and nerf looting and the trader (remove T6 from trader altogether) so that they're as equal as possible; the game is never going to feel balanced so long as looting can yield T6 and crafting cannot.TLDR; No, you're going to be stuck with T5 crafting. Read for more info. Not sure who downvoted you, but you are spot on. I'm doing a crafting builder type ATM, and it's pretty much pointless compared to just doing a typical looter scavenger build that just does nothing but quests and PoI.Even by like day 25, I still can't craft things to match loot I found on day 2 and 3.

Being able to craft steel gear takes a freaking crapload of points compared to just putting some points in lucky looter and finding steel tools constantly. Even without a single point in looting skills I found steel tools starting day 2 and basically all my BIS gear is stuff I found despite me being a crafting characterQuite dumb. It was so good too. More than the balance aspect the fact that crafted weapons had random stats was the exact endgame content I was hoping for. Before and after the Q6 crafting change the loot from POI just feels empty after you get decent quality equipment. I mean anything but the occasional quality 6 item is just fodder for the trader.

But with the random Q6 crafting I was so excited to break down all this loot I found for weapons parts because they were basically re roll tokens for your weapon stats. Every x tokens you could craft a new quality 6 item to try to roll better random stats than your current weapons. It's the first time ever that I've still been excited for loot after getting all Q6 equipment. And we got it for what, like 2 days? I didn't even get to use any of the weapon parts I was so excited to be collecting.

Now I just have a chest full of junk, they don't even sell for much.
